Durrow Abbey



Part of an old woodland estate. Species remaining on site are Scots pine and Norway spruce and some birch and rowan. Other flora include rushes, grasses, bracken and meadowsweet. Fauna include pheasant, woodcock, grey squirrel and mink. The area is adjacent to Durrow Abbey estate which is the site of a 6th century monastery founded by Saint Colmcille
